Karen Hansen

Karen Hansen is principal clarinetist of the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra and Mississippi Valley Orchestra, clarinetist with Dolce Wind Quintet and the Rochester Symphony Orchestra, and a Thursday Musical Performing Artist. Her other freelance work has included the Schubert Club, Rochester Choral Arts Ensemble, the Moody Blues, and OCEAN with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company. At Cadenza Music she teaches clarinet and saxophone, and on cruise ships she lectures about music. As a St. Olaf College student she studied British wind music in London. Karen earned her M.A. from University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she performed in a master class with clarinetist Richard Stoltzman.
